Biography Carol Shields

 

Carol Shields (born June 2, 1935, died July 16, 2003) was a Canadian writer known for her work which included novels, short stories, and works of nonfiction. She was born with the name Carol Ann Warner in Oak Park, Illinois, United States, but later became a Canadian citizen.

 

Shields completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Hanover and continued her postgraduate studies at the University of Exeter in England. He taught literature at several universities in Canada and the United States before focusing on his writing career.

 

Early in her career, Shields wrote poetry and short stories. However, his popularity grew when he started writing his novels which are considered to be innovative and introspective works.
